Cowboys extend Roache and Peacock

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have agreed to two-year contract extensions, running through the 2028 NRLW season, with Kiwi International Abigail Roache and Proserpine product Lily Peacock.

Roache is in her second season at the Cowboys after two years and a premiership with the Knights between 2023 and 2024.

The 25-year-old has established herself as one of the NRLW’s standout centres, scoring 12 tries in 34 career appearances.

Roache has also made eight appearances for the Kiwi Ferns.

A proud North Queenslander, Peacock is currently sidelined with an ACL injury, suffered in State of Origin camp earlier in the season.

The 21-year-old middle forward made her NRLW debut with the Cowboys as a teenager in 2023.

Peacock has registered 23 appearances for the Cowboys, but will unfortunately be sidelined for the entirety of 2026.

“Abigail is a quality person first and foremost,” Cowboys NRLW Head Coach Ricky Henry said.

“She loves this region, she loves the Cowboys and she has been a trailblazer in helping turn our program into what it is today.

“Lily has had a setback this year, but she is an exceptional talent.

“She has a great work ethic to go along with her talent, but most of all she wants to win and grow as a player.

“Lily is also a local product who is incredibly proud to wear our jersey and represent the Cowboys.”
