The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have agreed to long-term contract extensions with NRLQ grand final-winning duo Archie Mesritz and Fanafou Seve.
Mesritz has been extended through to 2030, while Seve has inked a two-year deal which sees him join the NRL squad on Development List contracts for 2027 and 2028.
A product of the NSW Central Coast, Mesritz was signed as a schoolboy rugby union star out of St Joseph’s College Nudgee in Brisbane.
He transitioned to rugby league after joining the Cowboys Young Guns program in late 2025.
The 19-year-old has compiled a sensational first season in North Queensland, winning both the Mal Meninga Cup with the Townsville Blackhawks and the NRLQ with the Cowboys.
A fly-half in rugby union, Mesritz has played predominantly fullback in his transition to rugby league.
Also in his first campaign at the Cowboys, Seve previously spent time in the Bulldogs and Roosters pathways systems.
The hulking 20-year-old front-rower starred for the Cowboys in their march to the NRLQ title.
The former NSW Under 19s representative made his Queensland Cup debut for the Northern Pride in Round 2 and has appeared in eight games in total.
“This is a wonderful result for our club, locking down two of our best emerging players long-term,” Cowboys Recruitment and List Manager Clint Zammit said.
“While completely different players, we believe both have the talent to excel at NRL level.”
