Elders supporting Farm Angels at Cowboys v Sea Eagles clash

Game Day is set to take on a rural feel this week, with Elders set to take centre stage as matchday partner for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys clash with the Sea Eagles on Thursday night.

Cowboys fans heading to Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Thursday can enjoy a range of exciting activations and be a part of an important cause, supporting local farmers and rural communities.

In a sign of their connection to the region, Elders have taken the opportunity to further their commitment to Farm Angels, an Australian charity dedicated to supporting farmers and rural communities impacted by natural disasters such as drought, fire and flood.

Farm Angels exists so no farmer feels alone, providing personalised, practical support to farming families and their communities, including financial assistance for everyday essentials and urgent needs, mental health and wellbeing support through check-ins and referrals, and long-term recovery support to thousands of primary producers across Australia.

Through disasters, tough seasons and the long road to recovery, Farm Angels works to ease pressure, reduce isolation and walk alongside farmers, helping families keep going on the land and supporting strong rural communities.

Elders General Manager – Northern Region Ryan Robinson said Elders is proud to support Farm Angels, as many farming communities across Queensland continue to experience the impacts of flooding.

“Elders has a long history of supporting farmers and rural communities, and we are delighted to throw our support behind Farm Angels, reflecting that commitment. Across Queensland and the Northern Territory this year, flooding and extreme rainfall have had a significant impact on farming families, local jobs and regional communities more generally,” Mr Robinson said.

“Farm Angels provides practical, on-the-ground support when people need it most, and we’re proud to back an organisation that aligns so closely with our values.”

Elders will be presenting a donation to Farm Angels at half-time of the Cowboys v Sea Eagles clash, while the rural charity will also receive all proceeds from Thursday night’s Toyota Torpedo activation.

Cowboys members and fans heading to the match can test their skills on a mechanical bull, as well as Elders’ ball toss activation, both located on the Northern Green.

Tickets for Thursday night’s clash are still available at cowboys.com.au/tickets, while Cowboys fans can donate to Farm Angels here.
