Show Your Colours for Cowboys Community Foundation

No need to stress about what to wear tomorrow, it’s time to lay out your favourite team jersey, T-shirt or polo and put your community pride and spirit on display to mark the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ Show Your Colours Day.

The North Queensland community has answered our club’s call to arms ahead of Sunday’s opening home, with schools, businesses, community groups and individuals rallying behind the inaugural annual event.

Designed to boost pride in the North’s team and community spirit while raising funds for the Cowboys Community Foundation’s life-changing programs, Show Your Colours Day invites North Queenslanders to wear the colours that represent who they are and where they belong, and donate whatever they’re able to support the cause.

“Our school and students absolutely love the Cowboys, they’re a huge part of the Townsville and North Queensland region and do so much for the community,” said Oonoonba State School Adopt-a-School coordinator Donna Warde.

“Our school community benefits greatly from the Adopt-a-School program and our connection with Braidon Burns, and this is a fun way we can help support the wonderful work the Cowboys do,” she said.

Oonoonba is one of 10 local schools to jump on board the initiative, along with local businesses and community organisations including Mike Carney Toyota, the Cowboys Leagues Club, Suncorp and Bunnings.

“As players, there is a real sense of pride and belonging associated with pulling on the Cowboys jersey,” said Cowboys Centre Braidon Burns.

“Seeing the swell of community support behind Show Your Colours Day really drives home the fact that our fans also feel that passion and connection to our team colours,” he said.

“It’s a wonderful boost ahead of our first home game, and a reminder of exactly why we do what we do.”

All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Cowboys Community Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys.

The Foundation focuses on employment, health and social outcomes through education-based programs in the North’s regional communities, including NRL Cowboys House, Try for 5!, Try Time! and Dream, Believe, Achieve.

Donation stations will be located at Cowboys Leagues Club, Mike Carney Toyota, Bunnings (Domain Central) and Podium Café (Hutchinson Builders Centre).

Anyone can easily make a donation online here.
