Dearden claims third Players' Player award in four seasons

Tom Dearden has claimed a third Players’ Player award in the last four seasons at tonight’s North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Presentation Night.

Dearden’s win follows his victories in 2022 and 2024, with Scott Drinkwater splitting the triumphs in 2023.

The 24-year-old switched to halfback midway through the season and responded with arguably the best campaign of his career.

In 22 games, Dearden tied his career-high with nine tries, forced the most drop outs of his career with nine, finished with 14 try assists, one behind his 2022 total and averaged north of 100 running metres a game for the first time in his career.
