The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have today been announced as one of four teams headed for Las Vegas for the NRL’s showpiece season-opening event in the USA in 2026.
North Queensland will lock horns with the Newcastle Knights in Nevada, while the St George Illawarra Dragons will battle the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the other fixture for the third edition of the NRL’s Vegas extravaganza.
The English Super League will again feature in 2026, with Hull KR to play against the Leeds Rhinos.
The 2026 event is set down for Saturday, February 28 (Sunday, March 1 AEST) at Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium – home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
“Vegas has been a wonderful opportunity for the growth of our game and for the Cowboys to be part of year three is terrific for our club,” Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said.
“It gives our members and fans not only the opportunity to support us in Vegas, but also an opportunity to be part of what is rapidly emerging as the greatest spectacle to begin a season in professional sport.
“Our team will have the opportunity to play in a stadium which is one of the best in the world.
“It also provides the opportunity for our club to network with other elite sporting teams from different codes in a country which is one of the leaders in world sport as well as showcasing our club, the North Queensland region and our partners on the international stage.”
Direct charter flights from Sydney to Las Vegas are available from $2,800 return while flights from Newcastle and Townsville are available from $2,990.
Tickets and travel packages, including four Club themed charter flights to Las Vegas, are available via the NRL Travel by Trip-A-Deal website: travel.nrl.com.
