Close to four hundred North Queenslanders will have the chance to experience the atmosphere and excitement of a North Queensland Toyota Cowboys home game in 2025 thanks to the Cowboys Field of Dreams program.
Supported by Townsville City Council, Toyota, Triple M Townsville and Cowboys Leagues Club, Field of Dreams is a chance for individuals in our community who may be facing social exclusion or disadvantage to enjoy seeing their heroes in action.
Thirty tickets are donated to a charity or community organisation for each of the Cowboys’ 12 regular-season NRL home games at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Today, disability and mental health support organisation Kith and Kin was announced as the first recipient for 2025, and hand delivered their tickets for Saturday afternoon’s opening home game against the Sharks by none other than Cowboys Prop Sam McIntyre.

Kith and Kin CEO Alfred Wimblett said Field of Dreams helped their organisation provide participants with an opportunity to be part of a community activity they might otherwise not be able to attend.
“Our Kith and Kin community members face a variety of challenges which means they can sometimes be or feel socially excluded or disadvantaged, even for things most of us take for granted like going to the footy,” he said.
“The Cowboys are a huge part of the identity and culture of North Queensland and through the Field of Dreams program they’re able to experience the magic, excitement and camaraderie of being truly part of that,” he said.

“Sport is a powerful and fun way to encourage healthy lifestyle habits, and we have lots of Cowboys fans here as well, so having Sam McIntyre visit and be so involved in our sport activities was very special for all of us.”
“I was very impressed and honestly inspired today,” McIntyre said.
“It was great to deliver the tickets, but also seeing how enthusiastic, resilient, and grateful the Kith and Kin community members were during their sport class was awesome, I’ll try to bottle some of that when I run out on Saturday,” he said.
“Knowing the challenges so many of our fans and fellow North Queenslander’s face every day, it’s great that for at least those 80 minutes they can escape that and just enjoy the footy.”
The program has been running since 2007, and created lasting memories for thousands of North Queenslanders, this weekend it will be supported by Toyota Australia.
“As a long-term partner of the Cowboys for almost 25 years, at Toyota we understand the value of being part of the passion and excitement at a home game,” Vice President of Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley said.
“Nothing compares to live football, and alongside Kith and Kin we’re proud to help give some of our most vulnerable Cowboys fans an unforgettable experience.”
