Tuned in since the beginning: SCA extends for further 3 years

North Queenslanders can continue to tune in and follow the progress of their favourite team, with day one club partner and current exclusive commercial radio partner Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) extending their partnership with the Cowboys for at least a further three years.

Partnering with the Cowboys since the club’s inception in 1995, Australia’s largest entertainment company will continue their commitment to bringing fans closer to the action across the North, with Cowboys forward Sam McIntyre joining the Triple M family, providing all the behind-the-scenes action with his weekly on-air reports.

In a further boost, SCA will maintain their support of joint initiatives to benefit the local community, including the Cowboys Field of Dreams program, supporting local charities across the region.

Cowboys Chief Commercial Officer Dean Payne said the club was delighted to have the partnership extend beyond three decades, shoring up a relationship built on the club’s foundations.

“This is a fantastic outcome for rugby league fans across the north who rely on SCA’s digital and broadcast platforms to follow the progress of our club throughout each season,” he said.

“SCA have supported our club since the very beginning, and it is a testament to the shared values and commitment to the people of our region that we are able to take our longstanding partnership beyond the 30-year mark,

“Cowboys fans travel far and wide, and SCA’s unwavering commitment since the club’s inception has ensured our team has remained in the hearts, minds, cars and living rooms of communities across our vast region.”

For SCA General Manager Penny Hawken, the partnership extension comes at an exciting time, leading into a blockbuster 30th anniversary year.

“We are incredibly proud to extend our partnership with the Cowboys, continuing our commitment to delivering the best coverage for fans and supporting the North Queensland community”

SCA fan favourites CK and Carley will continue as ground announcers at Cowboys home games throughout the 2025 season, while supporters can listen to all the action from every match throughout the year with the popular Cowboys Call Team.

Cowboys fans can also tune in to hear the latest insights with forward Sam McIntyre each week on Triple M Breakfast across Townsville, Cairns and Mackay.
