Green Energy Technologies to power the Cowboys

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys will welcome leading solar provider Green Energy Technologies as a Major Partner in 2025.

In a multi-year deal, the North Queensland based solar company will support both the club and its community initiatives delivered through the Cowboys Community Foundation.

With a commitment to sustainability, Green Energy Technologies will help the Cowboys become greener with the installation and upgrade of solar infrastructure at the Hutchinson Builders Centre and NRL Cowboys House.

Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel welcomed the new partnership and spoke of the focus it will have on sustainability.

“We’re delighted to welcome Green Energy Technologies into the Cowboys family and look forward to working together on a partnership that supports so many areas of the club and our work in the North Queensland community,” Reibel said.

“North Queenslanders are making the switch towards more sustainable energy solutions, so we’re thrilled a key part of this partnership will help us reduce our carbon footprint, ensuring we are doing our part for future generations,” he added.

Green Energy Technologies CEO Kon Flaherty shared his excitement for the collaboration.

“We’re proud to support a team and organisation that is so integral to the North Queensland community,” Flaherty said.

“Through this partnership we hope to champion sustainability, while contributing to the important work of the Cowboys Community Foundation,” he added.

As part of the agreement, Green Energy Technologies will become the Presenting Partner of the Cowboys 50-50 Charity Raffle program, drawn at every NRL home game throughout the season.

The raffle provides members and fans the opportunity to win large cash prizes while helping others, with 50% of ticket sales going to one lucky winner, and 50% going to the Cowboys Community Foundation to deliver its life-changing programs.

The Foundation was established in 2015 by the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, drawing on over 20 years of community leadership, corporate social responsibility and successful community program delivery.

Cowboys Community Foundation CEO Fiona Pelling said the partnership comes at a significant time in the organisation’s history.

“As we go into our 10th year, it is wonderful to have the backing of a proudly Queensland business like Green Energy Technologies,” Pelling said.

“The 50-50 Charity Raffle is a vital fundraising initiative which helped us raise a record $150,000 last season, while upgrading our solar infrastructure will significantly offset energy costs at NRL Cowboys House,” she said.”

“It means we can direct more of our funds to making an even greater difference to the lives of individuals, families and communities.”

The upgrades are expected to get underway in February 2025.
