Global compression sportswear brand SKINS is the Official Supplier of Compression Gear for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys.
Cowboys Chief Executive Jeff Reibel said the two-year partnership would see SKINS compression garments become a critical component of the squad’s game day training, performance and recovery kit.
“Last season, the squad’s uncompromising pre-season training was written into the National Rugby League’s history books as one of the toughest regimes a club had pursued in recent memory,” Mr Reibel said.
“At the top of the 2023 season, the squad intends to double-down from here, working harder than ever to improve their strength, fitness, resilience and sheer grit for which the Cowboys are known,” he said.
“SKINS’ compression garments will ensure our athletes can achieve peak physical performance on game day, while supporting their recovery to ensure they can compete throughout a gruelling season.”
“Following our decade long partnership, we’re thrilled to welcome SKINS back as an official supplier this season after their brief hiatus in 2020 to focus on launching their new series of industry leading compression sportswear.”
SKINS COO Simon Goodfellow said the Cowboys and SKINS shared a mutual commitment to supporting athletes at all levels to achieve greatness.
“Since its inception, SKINS has existed to help those in the pursuit of athletic excellence. We make athletes of all levels perform better by knowing what pressure to apply and where to apply it on the body to naturally enhance blood circulation, limit the damage during training and playing from muscle vibration and recover faster. The active compression wraps the muscles, providing necessary structural support and dampening damaging muscle vibrations. With our current compression products, we will establish training and recovery protocols for the teams to ensure on-field performance and recovery is optimised for the players.” Goodfellow said.
“At around the same time, the Cowboys were formed with the mission to support the North’s regional and remote rugby league athletes to pursue sporting careers at an elite level. The comparison shows a clear alignment between our brands’ aims to support athletes to pursue their full potential and exceed what they ever thought possible in their sporting pursuits.” he said.
“We are thrilled at SKINS to be partnering with the Cowboys again, having first joined forces in 2020, at a pinnacle time for both brands.”
