The Queensland Maroons team for Game I of this year's State of Origin series will be announced by Queensland Rugby League on Monday at 9am.

Following the announcement and media call, Maroons players will begin assembling in Brisbane to begin preparations for the series opener at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on June 8.

Monday will be a busy day for the players, who will work through internal commitments like gear fittings, head shots, partnerships and digital activity, as well as media interviews and an evening shoot with broadcaster Wide World of Sports.

A field session is scheduled for Tuesday morning, before the team joins members of the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons squad for official series launch at the Maroons Long Lunch.

Slater’s Maroons will then head to Sanctuary Cove where the team will get down to work with regular field and gym sessions in the lead up to Game I.

The annual Maroons regional fan day will be held in Warwick July 5-6.

Queensland’s leading women’s players will spend an afternoon with fans on the Gold Coast on July 18.

Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons coach Tahnee Norris will announce her team on June 5 for their clash against New South Wales in Canberra.
