It's been a surreal journey: Townsend

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys co-captain Chad Townsend joined Triple M's The Rush Hour ahead of his 200 game milestone in Darwin this Saturday night.

The 31-year-old spoke about his dream of playing in the NRL when he was a kid, his first grade career so far and how he is enjoying his time in North Queensland.

"When I look back at my journey so far, it's been surreal," Townsend said.

"When I was about 14 I really started wanting to play in the NRL and dedicated a lot of my life to it. I made my debut when I was 20 against Darren Lockyer and the Broncos and they pumped us, but I wouldn't change anything.

"All I wanted to do was play one game, so to play 200, I'm very thankful.

"I'm really settled at the moment and my family is really settled. I'm really enjoying my time at the club."
