Key stats: Round 2 v Raiders

We take a look at some of the key stats from the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys 26-6 win over the Canberra Raiders at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

The number of Cowboys that ran for at last 100 metres in Saturday night's win. Peta Hiku (166m), Jason Taumalolo (161m), Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (138m), Valentine Holmes (136m), Tom Dearden (120m), Griffin Neame (119m), Murray Taulagi (117m), Coen Hess (114m), Kyle Feldt (111m), Jordan McLean (111m) and Reece Robson (102m) all cracked triple digits.


The number of points the team has conceded through the first two rounds of the competition, the fewest of any Cowboys team in the opening two rounds since 1998, when North Queensland defeated the Adelaide Rams 18-8 and Balmain Tigers 26-2. 


The team-high number of tackles hooker Reece Robson made in his 69 minutes on the field. Including last week’s 38 tackles, the 23-year-old is tackling at 95% efficiency to start 2022. 


The number of post-contact metres Jason Taumalolo had in the win over the Raiders. The 28-year-old also ran for 161 metres, had two tackle breaks and made 25 tackles at 96% tackle effectiveness.


The number of metres the Cowboys held the Raiders to, the fewest of any team in a match through the opening 14 games of 2022. In comparison, North Queensland ran for 1,738 metres and had 560 post-contact metres.
