McDonald's extends partnership with Cowboys

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys will continue its decade-long partnership with McDonald's, locking in a multi-year extension this week.

The global quick service restaurant leader will continue as a Cowboys major partner from 2022, with the iconic Golden Arches to feature on the back right panel of the squad’s playing shorts.

Cowboys Chief Commercial Officer Ross Aldridge said the extended partnership came at an exciting time for rugby league and the club.

“We’re seeing a groundswell of memberships heading in to 2022 which shows people are as passionate as ever about their footy,” Mr Aldridge said.

“Like our squad, Cowboys supporters hail from all over Australia, the Torres Strait, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and beyond – all with a strong connection to the club and its values,” he said.

“Under this extended partnership, the Cowboys and Macca's will continue forging these strong relationships in regional and remote communities for some time to come.”

Alana Inwood, McDonalds’ State Marketing Manager for QLD/NT, said the decision to extend McDonalds' partnership with the Cowboys was testament to the reach and impact of the club.

“Throughout northern Australia, the Cowboys name is held in the highest esteem, loved by multi-generations of families passionate about the club and what it has delivered for local communities,” Miss Inwood said.

“The extended partnership will see Macca's become the preferred coffee supplier of the club, while continuing the McDonald's Ball Kids program, Macca's Minute and popular game day giveaways,” she said.

“Throughout the 2022 season, we’ll also be hosting player signings at our restaurants to give Cowboys fans a chance to rub shoulders with their favourite players.”

“We’re proud to back the Cowboys as they head into a blockbuster season of football in 2022.”

The Cowboys playing kit will bear the Macca's logo for the first time on 13 March against the Bulldogs at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
