North Queensland Toyota Cowboys middle forward Josh McGuire joined Ben Dobbin on Triple M’s ‘The Rush Hour’ to discuss the change in the team's training, competition for spots, Todd Payten, and the new Hutchinson Builders Centre.
"The boys have been moving at a high speed. The work has been done. Now we just need to transfer it onto the field now. We have no excuses," McGuire said.
"With the performances over the last couple of years, how can anyone be guaranteed a spot. Competition drives performance and we need execution on the field and we need results.
"If you are the best man for the job you will be picked. There has been a high level of intensity at training. The young guys are pushing the old guys and the old guys are setting the standard.
"He’s very direct with what he wants. Everyone has a certain standard that they need to hit in whatever position you are playing. He drives high standards and expects results from his players."
