North Queenslanders dig deep to help others in times of crisis and Friday night's game will be a chance to help victims of the devastating bushfires for the NRL's Bushfire Appeal Round.
The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are working with the NRL and the Salvation Army to raise funds for victims and honour emergency services personnel and volunteers at the XXXX Derby at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Members and fans can donate at the gates and show their support in a special on-field tribute to first responders during the pre-game show.
Community Corner
With the support of presenting partner Townsville City Council, Cowboys Community Corner will also host the Salvation Army, giving game-day visitors the opportunity to learn more about their contribution to our community and their services. Team members will also be on hand to speak with those still affected by the 2019 floods.
Location: Northern Green, Queensland Country Bank Stadium
Time: 5pm-7pm, Friday 13 March
Platform for community awareness
Community Corner is a long-term program providing community organisations with dedicated space at Cowboys home games to build their profile and raise awareness for their cause.
Use of the Community Corner is offered at no cost to the participating not-for-profit organisations, reflecting the club's commitment to assist charities and community organisations to generate interest and support.
Each of the selected not-for-profit organisations have a charter to contribute to and benefit the North Queensland community and operate through the contribution of volunteers, fundraising efforts and some government assistance.
