2019 season review: Ben Hampton

Paul Green lost one of his most versatile assets when Ben Hampton was ruled out for the season with a torn bicep in Round 10.

Hampton began the year in the centres, before shifting to the wing as injury cover in Round 5.

Attempting to make a tackle in the opening exchanges of a clash with Parramatta at 1300SMILES Stadium, Hampton came reeling away clutching his arm and scans later revealed a torn bicep.

The 27-year-old was close to making a comeback in the Cowboys’ final games, but the club opted against an early return to ensure he would be fully fit for the start of pre-season in November.

Hampton recently signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the club through the 2021 season.
