The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have agreed to a two-year contract extension with 25-year-old forward Corey Jensen.
A home-grown North Queensland product, Jensen has played 41 NRL matches since making his debut in 2017, including a grand final appearance in his maiden season in the top grade.
The Bowen Seagulls junior has been one of the standout forwards in the Queensland Cup in 2019, averaging 160 running metres and 22 tackles across 15 appearances for the Townsville Blackhawks.
Jensen starred for the Cowboys’ NYC outfit in 54 appearances from 2012 to 2014. He spent the following two seasons with the Blackhawks before returning to the Cowboys on a top 30 contract in 2017.
“We’ve invested a lot of time and effort into Corey and there is no doubt he has made significant progress in his development over the past few seasons,” Cowboys Director of Football Peter Parr said.
“We absolutely believe Corey’s best football is in the near future and he is going to be a player that has real upside in the coming years.”
