Match memorabilia auction raising flood funds

Fundraising for the North Queensland flood appeal will soon receive a boost from the proceeds of the ‘Together for North Queensland’ match memorabilia auction, opening on Saturday night after the Cowboys v Dragons Round 1 blockbuster.

Members, fans and supporters of the flood relief effort will have the chance to bid for a range of fantastic memorabilia items in the online auction via the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ official website, cowboys.com.au.

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to GIVIT to support Townsville and north-west Queensland communities affected by flooding in February 2019.

The fundraising initiative is part of the Cowboys’ dedication of their first home game to raising spirits in the North, with a huge night of rugby league and entertainment lined up at 1300SMILES Stadium, including Dami Im performing a post-match concert on the field with members and fans, and Lee Kernaghan performing a pre-game set.

In addition to Cowboys memorabilia, the auction will include a special donation from the St George Illawarra Dragons, as well as a Lee Kernaghan money-can’t-buy experience and signature piece from his on-field performance.

The auction will go live at 8.15pm AEST/Qld on Saturday 16 March and run until 12pm, Wednesday 3 April.

Memorabilia items on auction:

  • 17 signed Cowboys jerseys from the Round 1 team
  • 1 team-signed 2019 Dragons replica playing, player cut jersey (non-match worn), signed by Round 1 team
  • Michael Morgan signed, match-worn boots
  • Jordan McLean signed, match-worn boots

GIVIT is working in partnership with the Queensland Government and Townsville City Council to manage donated funds and all offers of goods and services following flooding around the Townsville, Burdekin and north-west Queensland regions.

Donations made via GIVIT will provide critical and immediate support to residents impacted by the flooding as well as providing longer recovery support to re‐establish homes and help communities recover. For more information, visit givit.org.au.
