Queensland Rugby League have announced a return to the Sunday afternoon timeslot for the 2019 Q-Cup season.
North Queensland Toyota Cowboys feeder clubs will feature in three of the opening four rounds on Channel Nine, kicking off with the Ipswich Jets v Townsville Blackhawks at North Ipswich Reserve from 12.10pm on Sunday 10 March.
The Blackhawks will feature as the TV game the following week also (24 March), heading south to battle the Tweed Heads Seagulls at Piggabeen Sports Complex.
Finally, a fortnight later (31 March), the Wynnum Manly Seagulls take on the Mackay Cutters at BMD Kougari Oval.
QRL Chief Operating Officer Rohan Sawyer told QRL.com.au that 2019 was set to be another big year for the competition.
“We’re continually looking at ways to grow our fan base and engage with supporters of this outstanding competition,” Sawyer said.
“We believe the new broadcast arrangements in 2019 will help us achieve those targets.
“The switch from Saturday to Sunday broadcasts throughout the season is sure to be a popular outcome for many fans as well as our grassroots participants who are always eager to watch and follow the competition.
“We’re extremely grateful to Channel Nine and the NRL for their collaboration and support of this wonderful competition.”
