First prize winner: Holly from Glenella State School

Primary school students from Mirriwinni, Ingham, Airlie Beach, Glenella and Smoky Creek have topped hundreds of entries in the Cowboys Christmas card competition, proudly supported by Stockland Townsville.

Entries, which depicted the theme "My Favourite Christmas" and an element of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, were carefully reviewed by judges Matthew Bowen and Ray Thompson.

First-prize winner Holly is a student at Glenella State School and was "happy and excited" when she learned that she had won with her creative design.

"I was doing an outback Christmas-style design, with a koala and a blue heeler and I thought the outback theme would look nice," she said.

Holly's winning design will feature on the front of the Cowboys official Christmas card.
