Strong Cowboys presence in Auckland

When the Kangaroos take on Tonga in tonight's historic Test at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland, the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys will have a heavy presence, both on and off the field.

Superstar lock Jason Taumalolo headlines a fearsome Tonga forward pack, while prop Jordan McLean leads the Kangaroos pack.

But both teams also have a Cowboys influence on their staffs as well. Long-time physiotherapist Steve Sartori and team doctor Chris Ball have been key members of the Kangaroos staff for a number of years and have continued in those roles in 2018.

Incoming Cowboys assistant David Tangata-Toa has been a member of Kristian Woolf's coaching staff during the amazing rise of the Tongan side over the past two years, while former Cowboys and current Townsville Blackhawks physio Jonathan Crawley is also in New Zealand with the Mate Ma'a.
