2018 Paul Bowman Challenge

A record 72 teams will descend on Proserpine this weekend at the Proserpine Whitsunday Junior Rugby League's annual Paul Bowman Challenge.

Named after North Queensland Toyota Cowboys legend and life member Paul Bowman, the two-day competition caters for the under nine age group, beginning on Saturday and finishing on Sunday.

Bowman, a Proserpine junior and current Cowboys High Performance Manager, will travel back to his home town to attend the carnival.

Cowboys Game Development Manager Liam Bartlett and Development Officer Gavin Lloyd will also be in attendance to officiate games and help with the running of the carnival.

The 2018 Paul Bowman Challenge eclipsed the 2017 event as the biggest since its inception. Fifty-six teams took part in last year's competition, but an extra 16 will lace up the boots for the 2018 version.
