MND and Me Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation aiding those with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and will be hosted in the LGIAsuper Community Hub.
Located in the Western forecourt, the LGIAsuper Community Hub hosts not-for-profit organisations throughout the season to help them raise awareness for their cause.
MND and Me will be in the Hub with two cyclists on stationary bikes to raise awareness of their upcoming Million Metres for MND Ride.
The charity bicycle ride starts in Townsville on Saturday 11 August and ends in Brisbane on Sunday 19 August.
It will help to raise awareness and funds to ensure no Queenslander has to face MND alone. There are 20 volunteers who will be at the game before undertaking the 1,500km ride.
Paul Olds CEO MND and Me Foundation said that their aim is to increase awareness of Motor Neurone Disease and to support those with the illness.
"All riders have made personal and financial sacrifices to ride the journey from Townsville to Brisbane," Mr Olds said.
"They have so raised over $50,000 and attending a Cowboys v Broncos game a terrific way to kick off this adventure," he said.
The volunteers attending the game will be distributing information about MND and Me.
"We're looking forward to engaging with the Townsville Community and increasing the awareness of Motor Neurone Disease," Mr Olds said.
"It is important for us to continue expanding the support we provide in regional Queensland and also to show people impacted by MND in Townsville we are here to support them," he said.
MND is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with no cure, and until one is found MND and Me will work to help fund MND research and treatment initiatives to improve the lives of people diagnosed with MND.
"The reality is there are no real good news stories, no miracle recoveries with MND, yet the people we assist are brave, strong and resilient," Mr Olds said.
