Granville extends stay with Cowboys

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are delighted to announce premiership-winning hooker Jake Granville has agreed to three-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2021 season.

Granville, who will celebrate his 100th NRL appearance on Thursday night against Manly, joined the Cowboys prior to the 2015 season and was an integral member of the club's maiden grand final-winning outfit that same season, scoring 10 tries in 28 games.

The 29-year-old has played at least 24 games in each of his three full seasons since joining the club and has appeared in all 12 games so far in 2018.

Cowboys head coach Paul Green said the club was thrilled to be able to retain Granville's services for another three seasons.

"Jake has been a tremendous asset for this club ever since he arrived at the beginning of 2015 and we are extremely excited he will be a Cowboy for at least another three years," Green said.

"He was instrumental in delivering North Queensland its maiden premiership in 2015 and also helped drive the club to a grand final berth last season.

"At this club we pride ourselves on not just retaining quality players, but quality people and Jake certainly fits that bill – he's a fantastic player and a fantastic person."
