The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are pleased to announce a partnership that formalises the Mater Health Services North Queensland as the squad's first choice for health services for the 2018 season.

A shared commitment to care and community underpins the new alliance, which will see the club formally affiliated in partnership with the Mater for the first time.

The Mater has been delivering medical services to Townsville and the North Queensland region for over 70 years, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.

North Queensland Cowboys Chief Commercial Officer Jeff Reibel said it's the commitment to community that makes the partnership with Mater a natural choice for the club.

"The strategic partnership further strengthens the relationship between the club and Mater, who look after our community and strive for excellence and innovation in healthcare," Mr Reibel said.

The Mater have been a long-term corporate member of the club, although this formal partnership is a first.

"Our combined resources give us the opportunity to put the needs of our players first, and we have continued confidence in the quality of care they receive with the Mater," Mr Reibel said.

Mater Health Services North Queensland CEO Gerard Wyvill said the formal partnership extends the provision of high quality health care services as official hospital provider to the club.

"We look forward to supporting the Cowboys family with the same level of care and commitment we are known for in Townsville and the wider region," Mr Wyvill said.

The Mater's Pimlico campus recently completed a $1 million refurbishment to existing facilities, with a private Emergency Department opened this year.
