Matt Scott will be back bigger and better in 2018 after agreeing to a two-year contract extension during a year which can only be described as disappointing.

The inspirational co-captain ruptured his ACL in Round 2 against the Broncos, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

He was named in an extended Cowboys squad for the last two weeks of the finals after accelerating his rehab, but was only ever in there as injury cover.

2017 STATS:

Played: 2
Average run metres: 144
Average tackles: 15
Off the field: He and wife Lauren welcomed a second son, Wil, into the world in February.
