The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are enjoying the excitement of Grand Final Week with a focus on recovery after Saturday's thrilling preliminary final victory over the Roosters, as coach Paul Green cautions about balancing a busy week.

"You want to embrace it and enjoy it, it's not a normal week, but you can't let it distract you from what's most important, which is getting ourselves ready for Sunday," Green said.

The club is drawing from its recent experience of the 2015 Grand Final, with the team using the lessons learned in the lead-in to that memorable game.

"I think we got it right in '15, the boys did a really good job at getting the balance right of enjoying the moment and making sure we trained well.

"It's good having those guys around in the group, they can give some good tips to some of the younger guys who haven't been through it."
