The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Under-20s team are preparing for a wet slog at Parramatta when they take on the young Eels at Ringrose Park, Wentworthville today.

The Round 14 National Youth Competition match kicks off at midday in expected tough conditions with heavy rain falling in parts of Sydney overnight.

The young Cowboys are searching for back-to-back wins and will be looking to atone for the last time the two sides met, when a rampant Eels trounced the Cowboys 60-12.

Coach Aaron Payne will take his named 17 into the match, with halfback Jake Clifford (groin) and back-rower Cody Maughan (sternum) returning from injury layoffs.
