One of our newest North Queensland Toyota Cowboys members had an exciting story to tell his classmates after he won a Cowboys 2017 Gold Star family membership!

Joel, aged 6, was drawn as the winner of the Community Day promotion, and receives a Gold Star family membership with tickets to twelve home games, merchandise packs and all the great benefits that Cowboys membership includes.

Joel’s mother Louise brought her children along to Community Day and entered the competition without thinking that her family would soon be signed up as the club's newest members.

“We moved from Wagga over five years ago, so we are definitely converted Cowboys fans. They’re all very excited to be able to come to home games more often now,” Louise said.

“Joel only just started to play rugby league last year, so he is really into his footy. He was super excited when I told him he’d won.”

After Joel was told about his prize, his first reaction was to tell big brother Kurt.

“I’m sure he’ll be telling all his friends at school now they're back, but he was keen to tell his brother first. When I said he could call him (Kurt) on the phone, Joel just said, ‘No, I want to tell him in person, Mum’. It’s pretty important news for a six-year-old,” Louise said.

Joel and his family will join thousands of passionate Cowboys members at 1300SMILES Stadium on Saturday 4 March for the first home game of the season.

Members will have the first opportunity to purchase single-game tickets with an exclusive members pre-sale starting on Thursday 9 February, plus 2017 members receive 10% off single-game tickets! (Maximum four tickets per member.)
