As the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys prepare to take on the Wests Tigers on Sunday for Women in League Round, the club has paid tribute to the vital role of women in the greatest game of all.

“This is a great opportunity to recognise the fantastic contribution that women make to our club," CEO Greg Tonner said.

"To our female members, supporters, sponsors, staff, volunteers, mums and spouses, we say thank you for giving up your time every week to be involved with the Cowboys.

“We love that there’s a strong take-up of girls playing rugby league in the North, we’ve got girls and young women involved in officiating and coaching, and there’s a very talented group of women in executive positions in our club and on our board.

"Your contribution to the success and growth of our club and game will never be underestimated by the Cowboys."

North Queensland sported their custom-designed Women in League jerseys during their home match against the Melbourne Storm last weekend.

Members and supporters will have the opportunity to bid for the 17 player-signed, match-worn jerseys in an online charity auction from 12pm, Friday 12 August, with all proceeds to NRL Cowboys House.
