Customers of Cootharinga North Queensland will have a special night out tonight along with their support workers.

With the support of the Cowboys Field of Dreams program and the Cowboys Leagues Club, Cootharinga North Queensland will be special guests at tonight's North Queensland Toyota Cowboys' home game at 1300SMILES Stadium.

Cootharinga North Queensland is committed to achieving its vision of “building a better world with people of all abilities” by tailoring solutions to assist people to achieve the life they want.

This assistance is provided through a range of support and services, equipment solutions, empowerment and accessible housing.

In 2016, Cootharinga proudly celebrates its 65th year of supporting people living with disability in North Queensland.

This milestone, combined with the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), has solidified Cootharinga’s belief that every person with a disability should have access to support to assist them to live a quality life of their own choice.

“The bottom line is that we will tailor our support to suit the person,” Peter Mewett, CEO of Cootharinga said.

"Cootharinga understands that we are now in a customer-directed environment and we want our customers to tell us what they need.

"We are passionate about placing the highest priority on providing the best support solutions possible to empower our customers to live the life they want.”

The Cowboys Field of Dreams program has given over 2,500 special individuals in the community the opportunity to attend a Cowboys game to watch their heroes live in action at 1300SMILES Stadium.

Each game day, a Field of Dreams partner donates 30 home game tickets to a charity in recognition of their valuable contribution to the North Queensland community.

"The Cowboys Leagues Club’s generous support for the program means that everyone attending the game will get to learn about the fantastic role that Cootharinga North Queensland plays in our community and in building a better world for people of all abilities,” Fiona Pelling, Cowboys general manager – community said.
