Year six Silkwood student Amy Daly and Aramac’s Ruby Dyer have emerged from hundreds of North Queensland school children to be crowned the overall winners of the Toyota Cowboys’ 2015 Christmas Card Competition.

Proudly supported by Stockland, the popular annual competition invited North Queensland’s primary school-aged children – between five and 13 years – to design the front of what would become the Cowboys’ official Christmas card for the year.

This year’s theme was “What will Christmas be like in 20 years’ time?”, in recognition of the club’s 20th anniversary, celebrated in 2015.

Having pored over hundreds of entries, the judges jointly awarded the main prize to Amy, who attends St John’s Catholic School; and Ruby, a year six student at Aramac State School, for their eye-catching designs.

Amy’s card gave a robot-themed, futuristic nod to the beloved family holiday, while Ruby’s design paid tribute to the Cowboys’ maiden NRL Premiership.

Amy and Ruby each receive a $100 Stockland voucher and a Cowboys jersey with their preferred name and number on the back.

A number of age group winners were also selected, each winning a signed Cowboys football:
• 11-13 years - Quinn BrewVanHecke, Mt Larcom
• 9-10 years – Billy Hood, Ravenswood
• 7-8 years – Lulu Muller, Townsville
• 5-6 years – Destiny Bedourie, Boulia

All entries will be displayed at Stockland Townsville.

Thank you to everyone who entered and merry Christmas!
