The Northern Pride have been bundled out of the 2015 Intrust Super Cup in inglorious fashion with the Ipwich Jets lowering their colours 54-26 in yesterday’s elimination semi-final.

The nine-tries-to-five rout ends an inconsistent title defence for the Pride, who qualified for the finals on the back of some strong performances towards the end of the regular season.

North Queensland Cowboys-contracted players Javid Bowen and Ben Spina both scored tries for the Pride during the game at North Ipswich Reserve, but those efforts fell well short against the Jets, one of the competition’s best attacking sides.

Attention now turns to Round Two of the finals as the top-placed Townsville Blackhawks face the PNG Hunters in a grand final qualifier and the Jets face Easts Tigers in an elimination final.

RESULTS:

Elimination Final 1

IPSWICH JETS 54 (Carlin Anderson 2, Matt Parcell 2, Marmin Barba, Josh Cleeland, Dane Phillips, Keiron Lander, Billy McConnachie tries; Carlin Anderson 9 goals) def NORTHERN PRIDE 26 (Brett Anderson 3, Javid Bowen, Ben Spina tries; Justin Castellaro 3 goals) at North Ipswich Reserve.

Elimination Final 2

EASTS TIGERS 32 (Richard Kennar, Mahe Fonua, Brentt Warr, Tommy Butterfield, Felise Kaufusi, Jake Foster tries; Shaun Nona 4 goals) def WYNNUM MANLY SEAGULLS 24 (Matthew Smith 2, Matthew Grieve, Mitchell Frei tries; Mathew Seamark 4 goals) at BMD Kougari Oval.
