Mackay couple Brett and Sharon Minchainski have had a rugby league experience to remember after heading to Canberra to watch the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys defeat the Canberra Raiders in the round 15 NRL thriller at GIO Stadium.

As winners of the Toyota AAA Experience trip, Brett and Sharon – who bought their new Toyota LandCruiser from Mackay Toyota – won an all-expenses paid trip, which included:

  • Return flights from Mackay to Canberra
  • 2 nights' accommodation at the team hotel and breakfast each morning
  • Dinner with Cowboys personalities on Friday night
  • Grandstand seating at the game
  • Transfer via team bus back to the hotel
  • Dinner/drinks with the team after the game

After the trip, the couple said they were 'stoked' to have been part of the experience, and to share in a part of club history as the Cowboys notched up their record-breaking 11th straight victory.

“What a fantastic weekend,” Brett said.

“It’s such a fabulous promotion and Sharon and I have been Cowboys fans for a long time, and to spend the weekend in Canberra in and around the team was truly special.

“And to top it all off, the way JT kicked that field goal to win with no time left on the clock was phenomenal.”

The Minchainskis – who have three children – run a cane harvester in the Mackay region, and thanked the Cowboys and the North Queensland Toyota Dealers for making the dream trip to Canberra possible.
