It’ll be mate against mate this week for Cowboys Spirit cheerleaders Georgia and Zahnee, who are hoping to become the Cowboys' representative in this year's Big League Cheerleader of the Year competition.

The girls will appear in this week’s issue of the magazine, available at newsagents and Monday night’s game against the Storm at 1300SMILES Stadium.

And YOU get to play a part in their progression by voting for your favourite!

For Zahnee, the best thing about being part of the Spirit is the support and confidence she gains and being part of a tight community.

As well as cheerleading, Zahnee is studying nursing at James Cook University and also volunteers for community and charity events.

Her favourite rugby league moment was Matt Bowen’s last game for the Cowboys.

Matt Scott is Georgia’s favourite Cowboys player – she admires his commitment and work ethic, being a fellow country North Queenslander.

Georgia has found that being part of the cheerleading squad has brought her out of her comfort zone and given her confidence.

When she’s not training two afternoons a week on routines, Georgia is studying occupational therapy at JCU.

To cast your vote for the girls, text either GEORGIA or ZAHNEE to 19 992 220 and you'll be in the draw for the major prize – a return trip for two to the 2015 NRL Grand final with accommodation and flights all included.

You must include your name, suburb and email address. Each SMS costs 55 cents (including GST).

Voting starts on Thursday 26 March and closes at 11.59pm on Monday 30 March.

The Cowboys’ winner, to be announced next week, will join winners from the other clubs participating in the competition in the next round of voting.

Good luck!
