The Cowboys Leagues Club has taken home two awards at Monday night’s Keno and Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence.

Over 1,200 guests from across the state attended the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre event to see Clint Williams win the award for Club Secretary/Manager of the Year and Cowboys Leagues Club take home Best Club Redevelopment (under $1 million).

With extensive experience in the club industry, general manager Clint Williams has been with the club for four years, recently completing the North Queensland Emerging Leaders Program and an Advanced Diploma of Club Management.

Under Clint’s leadership, the club has established a pledge to donate $250,000 over 10 years from the Cowboys Community Benefit Fund for direct relief of poverty, sickness, destitution and improving the quality of life for young North Queenslanders.

Clint has also personally been involved with supporting the charity Give Me 5 for Kids, raising almost $3,000 to date.

Clubs Queensland CEO Doug Flockhart congratulated the Cowboys Leagues Club on their awards success.

“More than just a rugby league support club, Cowboys Leagues Club continues to grow and improve its footprint in the Townsville region,” Mr Flockhart said.

“Congratulations must also be extended individually to Clint Williams for his leadership and commitment to growing the club."

Clint was extremely honoured to receive the award.

"I'm extremely humbled to receive such an award, but I certainly wouldn't have won without the support of my staff, Board of Directors and the entire club industry – I feel very privileged to have worked with and learned from so many amazing people throughout my career," Mr Williams said.

Recently completing the first stage of their renovations, the club now proudly boasts a brand new fit-out and a rejuvenation of the restaurant, lounge and sports bar.

The club is continuing to renovate the internal fit-out of the restaurant area with new carpet and furnishings, as well as seeking a new tenant for the upper level.
