Coach Paul Green today named a 20-man squad to play their final pre-season hit-out at Barlow Park, choosing to keep his positional order under wraps until the confirmed team list is released closer to the match.

In what will be the last hit-out for the club before round one of the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership, Green has selected a strong mobile forward pack headed by Scott with back row enforcer Jason Taumalolo and new comer Ben Hannant in the lineup.

Scott returns after shoulder surgery in the off season that prevented him from representing Australia in the Four Nations tournament.

Three-time Dally M medal winner Johnathan Thurston is also listed to pull on the Cowboys jersey for the first time this year.

A capacity crowd is expected in Cairns as both coaches look to this game to finalise their round one team.
