An historic first match against the Townsville Blackhawks will feature on the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ pre-season schedule in 2015.

The Intrust Super Cup newcomers will take on a composite Cowboys NRL/NYC team in their first ever match at Jack Manski Oval at Brothers Leagues Club on Saturday night, 14 February.

It will follow the Cowboys’ NRL trial a week earlier against the Brisbane Broncos at Stadium Mackay and precede the match against the Gold Coast Titans at Barlow Park on Saturday night, 21 February.

North Queensland’s team to face the Blackhawks is expected to feature fringe NRL squad members as well as players from coach Todd Payten’s under-20s squad.

The Blackhawks’ pre-season will also include matches against the Pride in Cairns (7 February) and Capras in Rockhampton (21 February).
