North Queensland’s creative young artists can show off their skills once again by entering the annual Cowboys Christmas card competition, proudly supported by Stockland Townsville.

We’re calling on primary school students, aged between five and 13 years, to design the front cover of our 2014 Cowboys Christmas card.

One design will then be chosen for our Christmas card, which will be sent to our network of contacts across Australia and overseas in December.

The design must incorporate an element of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys as well as follow the theme of “Christmas is…”.

There are great prizes up for grabs, including a special Cowboys memorabilia prize and a $100 Stockland gift card for the winning artist, plus a $400 Stockland gift card for their school.

A winning entry will also be chosen from each of the following age groups: (1) 5-6 years, (2) 7-8 years, (3) 9-10 years, (4) 11-13 years, with each age group winner to receive a special Cowboys prize.

All entries received will be displayed at Stockland Townsville for the duration of the competition.

They will be judged by Cowboys coach Paul Green, Stockland Townsville marketing manager Danelle Parker and Cowboys player Gavin Cooper, who will make their decision based on how well the design incorporates this year’s theme, as well as its creativity and overall appeal as the cover design of the official 2014 Cowboys Christmas card.

Entries close on Friday 7 November, with the winner to be announced on cowboys.com.au on 12 November.

“Each year we receive hundreds of entries that prove that North Queensland students are extremely talented and creative,” Cowboys community relations manager Fiona Pelling said.

“In previous years, we’ve had winners from schools such as Port Douglas State School, Kirwan State School and Willows State School in Townsville, and St Francis Xavier’s School and Mutarnee State School in Cairns.”
