Some of the quotes from the Toyota Cowboys’ media sessions at Cowboys HQ and in Sydney this week:

MATT SCOTT

"(Halfback) Robert Lui especially the last five or six weeks and (hooker) Rory Kostjasyn – these guys have been doing a great job and taking a lot of pressure off JT,” Scott told AAP.

"JT is just the icing on the cake.

"He's been one of the best players in the game for a long time now, it's hard to say if he is in career best form or not.

"He is definitely in great touch at the moment.

"And that is what he has to be in if we want to beat the Broncs."

JOHNATHAN THURSTON

"It would be nice to get a bit of luck from the footy gods," Thurston said.

"Putting the decisions aside in our last two finals matches, we've had opportunities to win those games but we weren't good enough.

"We are a completely different side to 12-24 months ago.”

ROBERT LUI

“The last eight weeks I have been eating well, doing extras at training and enjoying time with my family,” Lui told the Courier-Mail.

“There is a good vibe going on here.

"It is a massive game up here this weekend and I can’t wait.’’

PAUL GREEN

"Muzz (Graham Murray) always offered me his thoughts but was never offended if I didn't taken them. He wanted me to learn from my mistakes," Green told APN.

"He instilled that confidence in me to trust my judgement and to make decisions you have to make, not take the easy way out."

ASHTON SIMS

“This is what you play for – why you do all the hard yakka in the off-season – but the job’s not done yet,” Sims told Cowboys TV.

“The Broncos will be just as tough as Manly were last week.

"We’re in the same bucket as them – playing for survival.

“We need to play the same footy as we’ve done the last eight weeks.”

GLENN HALL

“Finals football is on and we’re ready to go,” Hall said.

“Hopefully we can get another big and vocal crowd there this weekend to help us along.”

ASSISTANT COACH TERRY MATTERSON

“We’ve been in pretty good form apart from that disappointing loss to the Panthers that cost us a top-four berth,” Matterson told the Big Sports Breakfast.

“We’ve come through the last few weeks with no injuries. The boys are feeling really well and the home final is a good thing for us.

“We know what we’re up against. The Broncos won’t lie down for us. It’s a big derby game and they have a lot of big match players.

“It’s a very dangerous game for us.”
