Ten of the Leukaemia Foundation’s top fundraisers and 20 of their supporters will have their efforts recognised with tickets to the Cowboys v Sharks NRL game at 1300SMILES Stadium on Monday night, courtesy of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys and Tropic Petroleum.

They will be seated in the special Field of Dreams section as the Cowboys play for their ninth straight NRL home win.

“When the Cowboys and Tropic offered us the opportunity to reward our volunteers with tickets to the game, we decided to run a raffle amongst our overall highest fundraisers in our World’s Greatest Shave, U.G.L.Y. Bartender and general fundraising campaigns,” Leukaemia Foundation regional events coordinator Louisa Calvert explained.

“Ten winners were drawn and each of them received two game tickets for their supporters.”

The lucky winners were Nicola Perkins, Rebecca Moschella, Tanya Taylor, Angela Ryan, Cassienne Darwen and Jacqueline Kosanovic (World’s Greatest Shave), and Sianna Board, Tracey Archer, Amber Enstch and Marissa Angus (U.G.L.Y. Bartender).

“The North Queensland Cowboys’ Field of Dreams is a fantastic initiative and the generosity of Tropic Petroleum in providing tickets means that our fundraising volunteers can spend some fun time together as well as spread the word about our World’s Greatest Shave and U.G.L.Y. Bartender campaigns,” Louise said.

Since it started, the Cowboys Field of Dreams program has given more than 2,500 special individuals in the community the opportunity to attend a Cowboys game and watch their heroes live in action at 1300SMILES Stadium.

“Each game day, one of our Field of Dreams partners donates 30 home game tickets to a charity in recognition of their valuable contribution to our local community,” Fiona Pelling, Cowboys community relations manager, said.

“Tropic Petroleum’s generous support for the program means that everyone attending the game will get to learn about these wonderful fundraising efforts.”
