The Northern Pride and Easts Tigers will head to Mareeba this weekend to play in their re-scheduled match from round 7 of the Intrust Super Cup.

A win for the Pride would shoot them seven points clear at the top of the minor premiership and just about assured of the minor premiership.

However, this week they are without Ben Spina, who has been called into the North Queensland Cowboys squad for the first time, as well as Queensland Residents representatives Javid Bowen, Davin Crampton, Blake Leary and Shaun Nona.

Cowboy Joel Riethmuller remains sidelined by a hamstring injury, leaving Hezron Murgha, Kyle Feldt and Ricky Thorby as their three-man Cowboys contingent.

The fifth-placed Tigers are minus forwards Felise Kafusi and Tim Glasby who are in the Residents squad.

In round 16, the Pride beat Easts 44-20 after smashing the Tigers in the first half but only have nine players backing up from that game compared to 10 for the Tigers.

This is the fifth cup game in Mareeba – Cairns beat Souths and Gold Coast there in 1998 and Wynnum in 2000.

The Cowboys’ Young Guns also beat Wests there in 2003.

The Mackay Cutters do not play this weekend.
