With a two-game suspension now behind him, Tariq Sims has regained his place in the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ starting pack for the round 15 Monday Night Football clash with the Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium.

Sims hasn’t played since the round 11 loss to Canberra and his return pushes Jason Taumalolo back to the interchange bench, while John Asiata drops out of the squad of 17 that took part in the two-point defeat against Parramatta in North Queensland’s last outing.

The Cowboys’ State of Origin quartet Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott, James Tamou and Brent Tate have been named in the starting 13.

Robert Lui has retained the No.14 jersey following his man-of-the-match performance for the Northern Pride in their Intrust Super Cup victory against Easts in Brisbane on Sunday.

It’s a 17-day gap between NRL games for the Cowboys who are now in 10th place on the NRL ladder, six spots ahead of the Knights.
