St Brendan’s College Yeppoon will get the chance to win back-to-back Aaron Payne Cup titles on 'home' soil next week after coming through their semi-final in Mackay on Wednesday afternoon.

The defending champions defeated Ignatius Park College from Townsville 26-10 to set up a rematch of the 2013 grand final against Kirwan State High School who outclassed St Patrick’s College Mackay 40-6 in the other semi.

This year’s decider will be played at Browne Park in Rockhampton on Tuesday, kicking off at 11am.

It was Kirwan High who had the home ground advantage last year, but St Brendan’s emerged with a 28-20 victory at 1300SMILES Stadium.

In the under-15s Cowboys Challenge, Kirwan High and Ignatius Park College have qualified for the grand final later this month in Townsville.

Kirwan beat Mercy College Mackay 24-14 in the first semi-final on Wednesday before Ignatius Park downed St Brendan’s 24-18.
