An initiative of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, the Queensland Government, the Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride Committee and Austcycle, the event has both a fun and a serious side.

“As well as a fun day out for the whole family, the family fun day includes bike safety demonstrations for kids and families and activities supporting the Children’s Cancer Institute,” Cowboys ambassador Dallas Johnson said.

“Bike riding is a great family activity but safety and awareness is paramount especially when riding on our roads.

“We’re hoping everyone will come along to share the safety knowledge in a fun and family focused environment.”

Dallas will present a bike safety demonstration with the help of Austcycle, with every participant to receive a “Ride Like a Cowboy” bike safety guide produced with the assistance of AustCycle and the Department of Main Roads and Transport.

There will also be loads of kids' entertainment including a jumping castle and a face painting station.

The event will run from 9am to 12pm and features a 5km ride around the bike tracks at Riverway.
