Toyota Cowboys back-rower Gavin Cooper has completed his team’s final training session and is set to take his place in North Queensland’s squad of 17 for the Good Friday clash with Manly at Central Coast Stadium.

However, centre Kane Linnett is in doubt with a back injury and may miss his first NRL match since 2012.

Cooper suffered a knee injury in the first half of last Saturday night’s loss to Wests Tigers and wasn’t able to make it back on to the field for the final 60 minutes.

He didn’t train on Tuesday evening but successfully made it through all the drills in the final session at 1300SMILES Stadium.

“He completed the whole session so I can’t see it being a problem unless something happens overnight,” Cowboys assistant coach Terry Matterson said of Cooper.

“We’ll give Kane up until the last hour – as much time as possible.

“We’re hopeful but we’ll see what happens there.

“We’ve got a back-up plan but we’re not going to divulge it at the moment.”

Linnett started suffering his back issues early in the Tigers game but was able to tough it out for the full 80 minutes.
