Spirit cheerleaders Samantha and Brittany are friendly rivals this week as they bid to become the Cowboys’ representative in the final 16 of the Big League Cheerleader of the Year competition.
The duo star in this week’s magazine, available at newsagents from Thursday and at 1300SMILES Stadium on Monday evening, and you can help decide who moves on to the next stage of voting.
Last year, thanks to the great support of Cowboys members and supporters, Spirit squad member Prue made it all the way through to the grand final.
Samantha, 21, is in her fourth season as a cheerleader for North Queensland and says keeping fit and healthy while cheering the Cowboys on from the sideline is the best thing about being a member of the Spirit.
As well as cheering on North Queensland at each home game and at special club events, Samantha works as a teacher’s aide and is also a tertiary student.
Brittany, 20, has been with the Spirit for two seasons after spending eight years having fun and learning her skills with the junior squads.
She’s currently in her final year at university and says Josh Hannay is her favourite Cowboy of all time.
