The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have established another membership record.

Thanks to a surge of support following the historic NRL Auckland Nines victory and the kick off to the new NRL season, the Cowboys membership tally for 2014 now sits on 11,048, already 14 members more than last season’s figure, which in turn was a 6.5% increase on 2012.

Cowboys membership ambassador Tariq Sims announced the new record today.

“It’s huge for the club that we’re continuing to build our membership and that we’ve already managed to beat last year’s record in the first month of the new season,” Tariq said.

“We’d set a goal of 14,000 members for 2014 and that’s definitely achievable with so much of the year still remaining.

“I know the players appreciate having so many people behind them, especially at our home games and when we play away from North Queensland.

“Our thanks go to everyone who has shown their commitment to the Cowboys by joining the Stampede in 2014.”

Cowboys members receive a wide range of benefits including the opportunity to secure the same seat from season to season, access to members’ only merchandise, priority ticket buying windows for State of Origin and finals, discounts at the Cowboys Team Shop, the chance to vote for the Members’ Player of the Year and an invitation to the annual Members’ Carnival.

Two hundred Distant Star members in South-East Queensland were special guests at a members-only function in Brisbane prior to the round two clash with the Broncos.
