Deirdre Comerford

Deirdre is the former Mayor of Mackay Regional Council and has a wealth of experience in governance and leadership, having spent 18 years as an Elected Member of Local Government. Deirdre is also an experienced Non-Executive Director and Board Chair, currently serving as a Director of Queensland Country Health Fund and Queensland Country Care Navigation Pty Ltd, and a Member of the Queensland Local Government Grants Commission, along with various other boards over the past ten years.

Deirdre was State President of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association and on the National Executive, a member of the Policy Executive for the peak body Local Government Association Queensland, and Chair of Regional Capitals Australia. She has also worked for the District Public Trustee, administering deceased estates, and managing trust funds. Deirdre is a Graduate and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
